Oh you guys! I had so much fun with these two during their sunrise engagement session! We even got lucky with a very cool morning and no humidity! Insert PRAISE HANDS! Lauren and Joe brought along their adorable dog, Oakley (you know how much I loved that since my son is named Oakley) and her mom, certified dog wrangler. What I adore most about these two is the natural way they laugh and enjoy being with one another! As a photographer you can stamp the label of DREAM CLIENT on them! Truly every giggle, smile was all genuine!

Late Summer Marine Corps Wedding at Amber Grove Inn

Melissa & Nathan! Wow! Their intimate summer wedding at Amber Grove Inn was filled with the most beautiful details and the most heartfelt moments. Throughout the day I think I told Melissa 25 times how beautiful and elegant she looked. Her happiness radiated when she was with Nathan. And the look in his eyes truly showed the amount of love he felt for his bride on their wedding day.

A week before their big day, the forecast looked awful. A hurricane was expected to make landfall here in Virginia on Saturday and we were expected to have flooding into Sunday, their wedding day. I texted Melissa on Tuesday to check in and see what she was thinking about the forecast. She told me “all I can do is pray.”

Well friends, we all know the power of prayer. The hurricane completely moved away from Virginia unfortunately impacting North Carolina severely. Because of this change in the forecast, it barely rained but a few sprinkles during their wedding day. They even had an OUTDOOR ceremony! I felt so incredibly happy for the two of them!

Melissa & Nathan, you both are two very special people! You both are so kind hearted!!! Thank you for allowing me to photograph the biggest day of your life! It was a true honor!

Luckily we made it halfway through the session before the rain started! But no rain was going to ruin this much anticipated session! After meeting them and working with them, I am even more excited for their wedding day!!

Mike and Lauren were married at the beautiful Celebrations at the Reservoir.  Despite the terrible weather forecast, it did not rain a single drop throughout their entire wedding day.  Their wedding day was so BEAUTIFUL.  Overcast skies with a wonderful breeze, they truly couldn't of asked for better!

Between the heartfelt ceremony and hilarious dancing at the reception, this wedding was one to remember! It was evident Lauren put so much work into all of the tiny little details and even hand painted every single sign.  All of the details down to the florals were just stunning.

A Summer Waterfront Engagement Session in Richmond, Virginia

I had an absolute BLAST with Chelsea and Ricky at their engagement session! And we got SO lucky! The dark clouds began to roll in, but the weather patiently waited until we were all done with their session!! Phew!!! Like many couples, these two started out by saying "we are awkward in photos." I always assure people "most people have never done this before, I will tell you what to do!".  Of course, I can shout out different poses, one after the next...
